Performative driven form finding in the early design stage

Abstract One of the most crucial factors architects should consider in building energy performance design is consumption residential buildings, particularly megacities such as Cairo. Oxman classifies that a five-paradigmatic model can help generate forms. In this study, authors aimed to develop form-driven framework based on generative shape grammar allows forms rules, which through variables act genes fitness function. The results indicate significant select optimum form saves by enhancing daylight penetration and thermal cooling loads building. Furthermore, after optimizing radiation load metrics, generated block balcony arrangements, shading eastern, western, southern facades. addition, northern façade has been developed without projections or balconies. Finally, window-to-wall ratio balance spatial autonomy (SDA) annual sunlight exposure (ASE) lighting metrics for north facade 60% southern, eastern facades 10%.
